Magna Carta is a non-for-profit Brussels-based independent research institute, university spin-off and academic network specializing in human rights and international law. We work closely with university professors, researchers, international scholars, judges and lawyers in an exciting and dynamic environment. The Magna Carta Institute gathers an academic network of experts and hosts it own researchers team in its Brussels' office.

The Institute's activities include research, training, consultancy and publication in various fields of interest. Research projects led by Magna Carta - generally in partnership with Universities and Agencies around the world - pertain to the following fields of scholarship : International Law and International Human Rights Law, International Relations, Political and Legal Philosophy, History of Ideas, History of Law. We conduct research and training programs on issues such as prosecuting terrorism and the rule of law; corporate social responsibility; business and human rights; humanitarian law; transnational human rights litigation; global governance; history and philosophy of international law and international relations.

Our objective is the promotion of scholarship and academic excellence in international law and human rights. We offer university professors and academic researchers exposure to the international scene while taking part in consultancy and research projects in partnership with research centers and agencies worldwide. In addition, the Institute conducts its own research programs thanks to its dynamic team of researchers.
