Morocco Project : Judiciary training on international anti-terrorism framework (2006-2007)

The COTER initiated a training scheme for professional judges on the fight against the terrorism and the protection of human rights. Thanks to the support of the Swedish Ministry of foreign affairs and in partnership with the International Legal Assistance Consortium and the United Nations Bureau on Drugs and Criminality, the Magna Carta Institute was appointed to organize the entire training program, including both academic and logistic aspects. The training sessions consisted of two seminars in Morocco, followed by a workshop for Moroccan and European judges in Brussels hosted by the Belgian Supreme Council of Justice. These training sessions gave way to the realization of texts books and didactic CD ROMs containing human rights or counter-terrorism related treaties as well as academic papers and notes in both French and Arabic. They also inspired the publication of the collection of essays edited by HENNEBEL, Ludovic, VANDERMEERSCH, Damien, Juger le terrorisme dans l’Etat de droit, Brussels, Editions Bruylant, coll. « Magna Carta », 2007.
