Sophie TURNER

Sophie Turner has been a research assistant at the Magna Carta Institute since September 2008. Her fields of academic interest are human rights mechanisms and violations in Latin America and the death penalty.
She recently graduated with a Commendation from the Graduate Diploma in Law at the College of Law in London. Previously, she obtained a BA with double first class honours with distinctions in French and Spanish Studies from University College London,writing a thesis on French immigrant activism while based at Université II-Le Mirail in Toulouse, France, as well as a thesis on HIV/AIDS while based at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina.
She has extensive experience in translating and editing documents for NGOs. In addition, she has recently held the post of social policy coordinator at the East End Citizens Advice Bureau in London, as well as being the president of the local Amnesty International group.
She speaks English (native speaker), as well as fluent German, French and Spanish.
